A day in the life at Angkor Grace

Wondering where you'll actually sleep, bathe, eat, and rest during the Convergence? Walk through one full day at our home in Siem Reap — from temple dawn to the last light on the bio pool.

Soul Adventure · 6 min read

Every transformative gathering rests on something unglamorous: where you sleep, whether the water is hot, and what's for breakfast. So let us take the mystery out of it.

The Angkor Convergence is held at TUI BLUE Angkor Grace Wellness Resort — a five-star wellness sanctuary less than five kilometres from Angkor Wat itself, and closer still to the centre of Siem Reap. It isn't a hotel that happens to host retreats; it's a resort built around them, with a dedicated yoga centre, a sound temple, a Japanese-styled bath house, a spa, and a 33-metre chemical-free bio pool at the heart of the grounds.

Here is what one day of the Convergence's Yin phase actually feels like, hour by hour.

5:30

Dawn at the templesSacred pilgrimage · Angkor

On pilgrimage mornings, we leave before first light. The drive to Angkor takes minutes — the resort sits practically in the temple's shadow — and you cross the causeway over the moat as the sky turns from indigo to rose. This is the cosmic ocean of the ancient Khmer, and crossing it at dawn, before the day's visitors arrive, is something the body remembers long after the mind files it away.

Not every morning begins this early. On gentler days, dawn is yours: sleep, journal on your balcony, or take a quiet swim.

Breakfast in the gardenIncluded daily

Back at Angkor Grace, breakfast is served overlooking the greenery — fresh tropical fruit, Khmer and Western dishes, proper coffee. Breakfast and lunch are included every day of the Convergence. The kitchen is genuinely wellness-oriented: vegetarian and vegan options run throughout the menu, and the chefs are known for reaching out about dietary needs before guests even arrive.

Morning practiceAum Yoga Center · Amazing Grace Sound Temple

Mornings in the Yin phase move between the Aum Yoga Center and the Amazing Grace Sound Temple — yoga suited to every level, contemplative practice, and sound healing journeys with crystal bowls that the resort is quietly famous for. The spaces are purpose-built: this is the same venue that hosts the Global Crystal Bowl Symposium.

Lunch, then the bio pool33 metres · phytopurified · no chemicals

After lunch (also included), the middle of the day is unhurried. The centrepiece of the grounds is the 33-metre bio pool — purified by plants rather than chlorine, so the water feels like a lake that happens to have perfect edges. This is also where the WATSU aquatic bodywork sessions of the Convergence take place: floated, stretched, and held in living water.

The bath house ritualJapanese Onsen · Mahalaya Spa

Late afternoon belongs to water and heat. The Japanese-styled Bath House follows the onsen tradition — heat, cold, and rest, repeated with intention — a sequence that switches the nervous system out of vigilance and into deep restoration. Convergence participants have full onsen access for the entire eight days. Those who want to go further book treatments at the Mahalaya Spa, or a session at the Meru Performance Center if the body is asking to move instead.

18:00

Golden hour, togetherDialogue · connection · some evenings, ceremony

Evenings vary across the eight days: reflective dialogue circles, shared dinners in town (dinners on days 2–6 are on your own — Siem Reap's restaurant scene is one of Southeast Asia's best-kept secrets, and we'll point you to our favourites), the welcome dinner, the sunset boat crossing of Tonle Sap lake, and in the Yang phase, evenings of visioning and alliance-building that tend to run late because nobody wants to leave the table.

And then — quiet. The resort is genuinely peaceful at night. You fall asleep five kilometres from the largest religious monument on Earth, in a bed guests routinely describe as the most comfortable of their entire trip.

"Angkor Grace is not just a resort; it's a sacred sanctuary of culture, history, spirituality, nature, and transformation."
